BIO & Picture

Janice Barnbart Copeland - 2003-09-14
After graduating Hickman, I enrolled in Christian College (now Columbia College) and graduated in 1965 with an AA degree.  Moved to Kansas City with Bobbie Hunt and we rented an apartment in Raytown, Mo.  I made the daily trip to downtown Kansas City, Mo where I worked for Platt Pipe Line in the accounting dept.  They were on the 14th floor of the Kansas City Power and Light Building ….It was great!

Met my husband, Garry Copeland, in Kansas City and married in 1967.  We have two sons, Aaron, 1971 and Austin, 1974, born in Westwood, Kansas where Garry and I both worked; Garry was a Programmer analyst for Sprint (formally United Telephone Co.) and I worked in the accounting dept. (again).

We migrated to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1976 and started the wholesale greeting card company we presently own.  We distribute greeting cards and social expression products in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.   We employ 22 full time and 68 part-time personnel.

Both sons are married and we have five grandchildren.  Garry and I enjoy our life together and with our family.

We are very active with our church family and community.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and have really enjoyed the bio’s.
