off from this airport about 1:00 AM on February 3, 1959.
This marker is placed at
the crash site of their plane.
Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens,
J. P. Richardson & their pilot, Roger Peterson died in that crash.
In the afternoon of February
3, 2001, we walked a mile in snow and below zero temperature
to see this marker at the
crash site.
