For over 30 years, I lived in St. Louis, MO with my husband Ron Villars, raising our two children and playing “surrogate mother” to the players on his high school football teams. I began my 35-year Information Systems career in 1967 as a Programmer at Missouri Pacific Railroad and continued at the Federal Reserve Bank and SBC, working as both an Applications and Systems programmer, IMS Data Base Administrator, Team Leader and Systems Analyst.
I attended MU from 1963 - 1964, with plans to become a Medical Technologist. However, as plans and priorities change, I did not complete my degree until 1990, when I graduated from Washington University with a BS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
I have lived in Kansas City,
MO since 1996, after a divorce and a second marriage to Fred Smith (1960
Douglass High School graduate). When we divorced in 2001, I decided
to stay in Kansas City, bought a house and have enjoyed decorating it and
living on my on for the first time in my life.
