Carol Ashlock Chamberlin - 2003-09-24
After graduation, while attending MU,  I met my husband-to-be, Howard Chamberlin, who graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 1971.  We married in 1970 and moved to Kansas City after graduation where he worked for an attorney who introduced us to Lake Lotawana, near Lee's Summit.  We have lived here for 32 years and  raised our three children, Whitney, 27 (Depauw grad.), Austin, 23 (CU-Boulder grad,) and Ashley, 20 (soph. at TCU-Ft.Worth).

L. Lotawana is a wonderful, close-knit community where we enjoy all kinds of water sports. The guys are especially into sailing their 21 ft. C-scows on our lake and enjoy competing in regattas on lakes out of state.   We also have junior sailing clubs and a competitive women's Butterfly sailing organization where 3 races are sailed on Wednesdays with luncheons held in member's homes in the summer.  We are avid snow skiers and have taken many  family ski trips to Colorado.  I have had the privilege to be a wife and home maker for the last 27 years and cherish the opportunities I've had to serve in the schools, community and in our church in various capacities.   Howard  has been President of the Home Owner's Assn. for the past five years and several years ago was recognized as "Heartland's Citizen of the Year" in So. Jackson County for all the work he has done in our community.

Our children are wonderful, beautiful children who love the Lord.  We consider that to be the most important purpose of our lives and we have been very blessed with a happy, healthy family, an active lifestyle and many good friends.  We've had the opportunity to take our children and travel to Europe several times and take sailing trips to the carribbean.  I am sorry we will not be able to attend the reunion in October as we will be in Maine.  I hope you have a wonderful reunion.
