Alex lived in Steamboat Springs,
CO. for twenty-some years. He built a home on a ski mountain, operated
a hunting and fishing store for over 8 years, and was a river guide on
rivers in Colorado, Idaho, and the Grand Canyon. In 1975 Alex was
saved. He goes on missionary trips to Guatemala, Costa Rica, and
Cuba. Some of the projects the mission teams work on are building houses
for widows and orphans. He worked with Helps International, which
is like a surgical M.A.S.H. unit, with the indigenous people in Guatemala.
While working as field director for the surgical teams, he became more
interested in volunteering for EMS, Emergency Medical Services. In 1997
he moved to Idaho on the Selway River, the first river to be designated
as Wild and Scenic. He became involved in the local ambulance service
in Lowell, Idaho. He now volunteers with the ambulance and fire units
in Moscow, Idaho.
