The fifth annual Seniors for Seniors Prom was held April 27, 1999, and was hosted by the senior class of Hickman High School to honor the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program volunteers.  These RSVP volunteers are 55 years of age and older and give many hours in Boone County.
The Kewpies provided the location, the music and a flower for each guest.  Deejay Charley Blackmore donated his services as well to keep the more than 135 volunteer seniors and student seniors swinging, among them smoothies Ruth Starman and Al Wilson, Shirley House, Jean and Dub Brown, Dave and Lucille Ormiston, Ollie Johnson, Jewell Davis, who threw off her shoes to twist with Hickman principal Bob Nolke, Betty Cook Rottman, Louise Grant, Pat Ritchey, Ginger Rogers clone Polly Dunavant, Jean Baldwin, Ralph Johnson, Sue Dailey, Bonnie Arnold, Evalena Spurgeon and Dennis Grey.
Many Boone County businesses donated food items and door prizes to make this event a great success and to say "thank you" to a group of people who do so much for our community.
